3 KDE Itinerary Alternatives Compared in 2026
KDE Itinerary keeps your train, flight and hotel bookings in one timeline on your phone and processes them on the device. It does not suggest places to visit. NomadSwipe covers that other part on Android: you swipe through real places in a city and see your saves on a map.
People look past KDE Itinerary for two reasons: they want help choosing what to do once the tickets are sorted, or they want an app with email forwarding and a wider user base. This page covers three alternatives, based on their public pages and store listings read on 29 October 2026, and says where KDE Itinerary is the better pick.

NomadSwipe
Best for: choosing places in a city by swiping
NomadSwipe is an Android trip planner for finding places. You pick a city and it shows real places one card at a time. Each card shows the category, rating, distance and opening status, and the places you save are pinned on a map for that trip. The list sorts by rating, distance or A to Z.

- Strength: a shortlist of places you chose yourself, which KDE Itinerary's page does not describe doing.
- Limit: its listed features do not include booking import, delay alerts or ticket storage, so it does not replace KDE Itinerary for trains and flights.
- Limit: Android only today; iPhone coming soon.
The free plan includes 3 trips, 2 destination searches a month, 2 custom pins a month and a limited number of swipes. Premium (Monthly or Lifetime, bought in the app) includes up to 20 saved trips available offline.
KDE Itinerary
Best for: bookings, tickets and live train information on a privacy-first app
KDE Itinerary's page (https://apps.kde.org/itinerary/) calls it a digital travel assistant with a priority on protecting your privacy. It pulls train, bus, flight, hotel, restaurant, event and rental-car bookings into a timeline. The page says the extraction runs locally on your device and that your data is not sent to remote servers.
It also searches journeys from your current location, offers alternative connections when a train is cancelled, shows live delays and vehicle status on supported trains and long-distance buses, includes a currency converter and has indoor maps of stations and airports based on OpenStreetMap. The page says KMail with KDE Connect works best for getting bookings in, and it also names Nextcloud Mail with DavDroid.
It runs on Android, Plasma Mobile and Linux, and its source code is released under the LGPL-2.0-or-later license. Its Google Play listing (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.kde.itinerary) shows an update on 18 October 2026 and an Install button; we did not confirm a price. The page lists version 26.08.2 as released on 8 October 2026.
- Strength: local processing of your bookings and live train information, from an actively released app.
- Limit: its page describes reservations and journeys, not place recommendations or a swipe-based shortlist.
- Limit: the setup route it describes starts with KMail and KDE Connect, which suits Linux desktop users more than people who live in a phone's mail app. We did not test the import paths.
TripIt
Best for: keeping every booking in one itinerary with flight alerts
TripIt's home page (https://www.tripit.com/) says you forward your confirmation emails to TripIt to build the itinerary. Its pricing page (https://www.tripit.com/uhp/pricing) lists TripIt Pro at $49 per year on top of a free tier, and says Pro sends real-time flight alerts, alerts you to potential trip disruptions and tracks rewards. The same page says the apps are available for iOS and Android and mentions offline access to your itinerary, without saying which plan includes it.
TripIt's Google Play listing (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tripit) shows a 4.8 average rating from 96.6K reviews, 5M+ downloads, an update on 15 October 2026 and Pro at $48.99 a year.
- Strength: a large user base and flight alerts that KDE Itinerary's page does not describe.
- Limit: its pages focus on bookings and alerts, not on finding places in a city, and its best alerts need Pro.
Wanderlog
Best for: one itinerary and map for places and reservations
Wanderlog's Google Play listing (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wanderlog.android) says you can import reservations by forwarding emails or connecting your Gmail, and that offline access to trip plans is a Pro feature. The listing shows a 4.8 average rating from 37.6K reviews, 1M+ downloads, an update on 23 October 2026 and in-app purchases. Its Pro page (https://wanderlog.com/plus) lists offline access, unlimited attachments and export to Google among the Pro features. We could not confirm the Pro price from Wanderlog's own pages, so this article does not state it.
- Strength: places, map and imported reservations in one app.
- Limit: offline access needs Pro, which matters if you are abroad without data. See our Wanderlog alternatives page for more.
