Lisbon in 2 days, planned from real places
Two days, 16 places, one map. This plan is the sample trip shown in the NomadSwipe store listing: a long weekend in Lisbon where every place was picked by swiping and then pinned on a map. The stops are grouped by area, so each day mostly stays on one side of the city.
Before you start
- Stay in or near the old town if you want to walk between day one's stops.
- Alfama and the castle are steep. Wear shoes you can climb in.
- Check each site's own opening days before you go. This guide does not list them.
Day 1: castle, old town and river
Most of day one is on foot. Alfama is Lisbon's oldest district. It runs down the slope between the castle above and the Tagus below, with a maze of narrow streets and small squares.
- Núcleo Arqueológico do Castelo de São Jorge: the archaeological area and museum inside the castle walls, at Rua de Santa Cruz do Castelo. Start here, while the morning is cool.
- Miradouro de Santa Luzia: a viewpoint on Largo de Santa Luzia.
- National Pantheon: on Campo de Santa Clara.
- Miradouro da Graça: a viewpoint on Calçada da Graça.
- Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara: a viewpoint on Rua São Pedro de Alcântara.
- Praça do Comércio: a square facing the river. The area was rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake, and the square was remodelled in that rebuilding (Wikipedia).
- Sail in Lisbon: a sailing trip on the Tagus. We have not checked its departure point or schedule, so check the operator before you go.
- Casa Lundum | Live Fado Show Alfama: live fado in Alfama, at Travessa do Almargem. Best kept for the evening.
Day 2: museums, the park and the far side
The day two stops are spread across the city. Plan a metro or taxi hop between the far ones: the Palácio Nacional da Ajuda, the Oceanário and the zoo. The two Gulbenkian stops share one park, so they make a good morning.
- Calouste Gulbenkian Museum: a collection that runs from ancient Egypt to the early 20th century (Wikipedia).
- Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian (CAM): modern art, in the same park as the museum, on its southern edge.
- Palácio Nacional da Ajuda: a royal residence in the Ajuda parish. It was built after the 1755 earthquake and is now a museum, with the Royal Treasure Museum of crown jewels since 2022 (Wikipedia).
- Oceanário de Lisboa: in Doca dos Olivais, in the Parque das Nações area. Its permanent exhibit is One Planet, One Ocean (official site).
- Jardim Zoológico: Lisbon's zoo, at Sete Rios. It opened in 1884 (Wikipedia).
- Cinemas NOS Amoreiras: a cinema at Amoreiras, a good indoor pick for the late afternoon.
- Cervejaria Ramiro: a seafood restaurant on Avenida Almirante Reis, for dinner.
Also on the sample list: National Museum of Ancient Art, at Rua das Janelas Verdes. Wikipedia says the museum has been closed for renovation since 29 September 2025 (Wikipedia), so check its status before you plan around it.

Getting around
- Metro: Lisbon's metro has four lines, run by Metropolitano de Lisboa. A contactless Viva Viagem card works on it (Wikipedia).

- On foot: the old town is steep. Use a tram or taxi for the hills between stops.
- In the app: every place card shows its distance, and the list sorts by rating, distance or A to Z.
