Mobile, Alabama in 2 days: 15 stops matched to opening days
A Mobile, Alabama 2-day plan of 15 stops from the NomadSwipe app's place data, each start time checked against stored opening hours. Day one is a compact downtown museum day, day two a battleship, house-museum and gardens day. Both days work on Friday and Saturday.
The plan at a glance
- Day 1, downtown: Colonial Fort Condé, the History Museum of Mobile, the Condé-Charlotte Museum, lunch at The Noble South, the Mobile Carnival Museum, the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf, the Exploreum and dinner at Le Moyne's Chophouse.
- Day 2, the battleship, two house museums and the west side: the USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park, brunch at Ruby Slipper, the Richards-DAR House Museum, the Oakleigh House Museum, the Mobile Botanical Gardens, the Mobile Museum of Art and dinner at Rock N Roll Sushi.
- Days of the week: the plan assumes day one is a Friday and day two a Saturday. By the stored hours those are the only two weekdays on which each day works (see the table below), in either order. Sunday and Monday fail both days.
- Distance: day one is compact, about 2.45 km in total by straight line between stored coordinates. Day two adds up to about 19.3 km, with one 9.99 km leg. These are not driving times.
A Mobile, Alabama deck of 254 places, led by museums
The city's data in the app sits in two destination rows (stored under the name Mobile, country USA) that hold 464 cards between them. Those are 454 distinct place IDs. The deck is not limited to the city: 197 of the 464 cards fall outside my city filter, in Daphne, Fairhope, Spanish Fort, Gulf Shores and on Dauphin Island, plus 48 with a non-Alabama or missing address. Inside the filter are 254 distinct places. Of those, 48 are sights by my grouping, in 6 stored categories: museum (16), park (12), theater and concert hall (7), tourist attraction (7), art gallery (4) and garden (2). Only 13 of the 48 are rated 4.0 or higher with at least 100 stored reviews, and 11 of the 13 are museums. This plan uses 11 of the 13: ten museums and one garden.
- The parks, galleries and tourist attractions are thin. The deck has 12 park cards, 4 art galleries and 7 tourist attractions in town, and none of them meets my line. That is why the plan is museum-led, and it is the honest limit of this data.
- Prices, tickets and parking are left out. I did not source fees or parking from official pages this run, so check each place's own website the day you go.
- Add your own pins. Anything you want that the data lacks, you add on the map yourself.
Which days of the week work
I parsed the stored weekly hours of the 15 stops with a script, set a suggested start time for each, and tested every weekday. A stop fails a day if its stored hours are closed, do not cover the start time, or leave less than one hour before closing. All 15 have stored hours, so none is left untested.
| Weekday | Day 1 works? | Day 2 works? |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | No (Condé-Charlotte, Maritime Museum and Exploreum stored as closed) | No (Oakleigh, Botanical Gardens and Museum of Art stored as closed) |
| Tuesday | No (Condé-Charlotte, Carnival Museum and Maritime Museum stored as closed) | No (Richards-DAR, Oakleigh and Botanical Gardens stored as closed) |
| Wednesday | No (Condé-Charlotte stored as closed) | No (Richards-DAR stored as closed) |
| Thursday | No (Carnival Museum stored as closed) | No (Richards-DAR stored as closed) |
| Friday | Yes (The Noble South is stored as opening at 11 AM) | Yes |
| Saturday | Yes | Yes |
| Sunday | No (Fort Condé and the History Museum open at 1 PM; four museums stored as closed) | No (Richards-DAR opens at 1 PM; Oakleigh and Museum of Art stored as closed) |
Closed days matter more here than in an outdoors deck. Of the 198 in-town places with stored hours, 81 show at least one closed day (41%). Sunday is the heaviest, with 56 stored as closed (28%), then Monday with 44 (22%). The museums in this plan show the same pattern: the Condé-Charlotte Museum is stored as open Thursday to Saturday only, 11 AM to 3:30 PM, the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf and the Oakleigh House Museum as open Wednesday to Saturday only, and the Mobile Carnival Museum as closed on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. If your two days are a Wednesday or Thursday, only one stop fails on day one (the Condé-Charlotte Museum on Wednesday, the Carnival Museum on Thursday) and only one on day two (the Richards-DAR House Museum), so you could drop that stop and keep the rest. Hours also change with the season and on public holidays, so confirm before you go.
Day 1: downtown
Day one never leaves the downtown streets. By straight line between stored coordinates, the farthest pair, the Mobile Carnival Museum and the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf, is 0.73 km apart, and going stop to stop adds up to about 2.45 km. The longest leg is that same 0.73 km. I read no transit or road source this run, so I give straight-line distances only and no travel times. Times below are my suggested start times.
- 9:00, Colonial Fort Condé: stored as a museum at 150 S Royal St, 4.1 from 308 reviews. Stored hours are 9 AM to 4:30 PM from Monday to Saturday and 1 PM to 4:30 PM on Sunday. A 9:00 start is the opening time.
- 9:45, History Museum of Mobile: stored as a museum at 111 S Royal St, 4.6 from 344 reviews, open 9 AM to 5 PM from Monday to Saturday and 1 PM to 5 PM on Sunday. 0.06 km from the fort.
- 11:00, Condé-Charlotte Museum: stored as a museum at 104 Theatre St, 4.7 from 210 reviews, open 11 AM to 3:30 PM from Thursday to Saturday and closed on the other four days. An 11:00 start is the opening time. 0.13 km from the History Museum.
- 12:00, The Noble South: stored as a restaurant at 203 Dauphin St, 4.6 from 1,082 reviews. Stored hours are 11 AM to 2 PM on Monday, 11 AM to 2 PM and 5 PM to 9 PM from Tuesday to Friday, 10 AM to 2 PM and 5 PM to 9 PM on Saturday and 10 AM to 2 PM on Sunday, so a noon start leaves two hours. 0.44 km from the museum.
- 13:00, Mobile Carnival Museum: stored as a museum at 355 Government St, 4.7 from 637 reviews, open 9 AM to 4 PM on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and closed on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. 0.39 km from lunch.
- 14:00, National Maritime Museum of the Gulf: stored as a museum at 155 N Water St, 4.7 from 395 reviews, open 10 AM to 4 PM from Wednesday to Saturday and closed on the other three days, so a 14:00 start leaves two hours. 0.73 km from the Carnival Museum.
- 15:00, Exploreum Science Center & PCI Digital Dome Theater: stored as a museum at 65 Government St, 4.0 from 275 reviews, open 10 AM to 4 PM from Tuesday to Saturday and closed on Sunday and Monday, so a 15:00 start leaves exactly one hour. 0.27 km from the Maritime Museum.
- 18:00, Le Moyne's Chophouse: stored as a restaurant at 251 Government St, 4.6 from 1,134 reviews, open 5 PM to 10 PM every day. 0.42 km from the Exploreum.

Day 2: the battleship, two house museums and the west side
Day two is a different shape. The USS ALABAMA is the most reviewed sight card in town and sits east of everything else on the plan. By straight line between stored coordinates, the farthest pair, the USS ALABAMA and the Mobile Botanical Gardens, is 14.28 km apart, and going stop to stop adds up to about 19.3 km. The legs are 2.91, 0.48, 2.19, 9.99, 0.66 and 3.06 km. The long one is from the Oakleigh House Museum west to the gardens, and after that the Botanical Gardens, the Museum of Art and dinner sit close together. The centres of the two days are about 4.65 km apart. Times below are my suggested start times.
- 8:00, USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park: stored as a museum at 2703 Battleship Pkwy, 4.7 from 4,379 reviews, the most reviewed sight in town. Stored hours are 8 AM to 5 PM every day, so 8:00 is the opening time.
- 10:30, Ruby Slipper: stored as a restaurant at 100 N Royal St, 4.4 from 1,137 reviews, open 7 AM to 2 PM from Monday to Friday and 7 AM to 3 PM on Saturday and Sunday. 2.91 km from the battleship.
- 11:45, Richards-DAR House Museum: stored as a museum at 256 N Joachim St, 4.8 from 174 reviews, open 11 AM to 3:30 PM on Monday, Friday and Saturday, 1 PM to 4 PM on Sunday and closed from Tuesday to Thursday. 0.48 km from brunch.
- 13:00, Oakleigh House Museum: stored as a museum at 350 Oakleigh Pl, 4.3 from 151 reviews, open 10 AM to 4 PM from Wednesday to Saturday and closed on the other three days. 2.19 km from the Richards-DAR House.
- 14:15, Mobile Botanical Gardens: stored as a garden at 5151 Museum Dr, 4.2 from 138 reviews, open 9 AM to 5 PM from Wednesday to Sunday and closed on Monday and Tuesday. 9.99 km from Oakleigh.
- 15:30, Mobile Museum of Art: stored as a museum at 4850 Museum Dr, 4.3 from 151 reviews, open 10 AM to 5 PM from Tuesday to Saturday and closed on Sunday and Monday, so a 15:30 start leaves 90 minutes. 0.66 km from the gardens.
- 18:00, Rock N Roll Sushi: stored as a restaurant at 273 McGregor Ave N, 4.6 from 1,938 reviews, open 11 AM to 9 PM from Monday to Thursday, 11 AM to 10 PM on Friday and Saturday and noon to 9 PM on Sunday. 3.06 km from the Museum of Art.

Where the stored hours bind
These are the stops whose stored hours decide the day or the start time.
| Stop | Stored hours | What it forces |
|---|---|---|
| Condé-Charlotte Museum | Thursday to Saturday, 11 AM-3:30 PM | Day one cannot be Sunday to Wednesday; the 11:00 start is the opening time |
| Mobile Carnival Museum | Closed Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday | Day one cannot be Thursday |
| National Maritime Museum of the Gulf and the Exploreum | Wednesday to Saturday and Tuesday to Saturday, both close 4 PM | The 14:00 and 15:00 starts, the second with exactly one hour to spare |
| Colonial Fort Condé and the History Museum of Mobile | Sunday opening at 1 PM | Day one cannot be Sunday |
| Richards-DAR House Museum | Closed Tuesday to Thursday; Sunday from 1 PM | Day two works only on Monday, Friday or Saturday |
| Oakleigh House Museum | Wednesday to Saturday, 10 AM-4 PM | Day two cannot be Sunday to Tuesday |
| Mobile Botanical Gardens and Mobile Museum of Art | Closed Monday; the Museum of Art also closed Sunday and closes 5 PM | Day two cannot be Monday; the 15:30 Museum of Art start leaves 90 minutes |
| Le Moyne's Chophouse | Opens 5 PM every day | The 18:00 dinner |
What I left out, and why
- Cards outside the city. 197 of the 464 cards fall outside my city filter: 33 with a Daphne address, 24 in Fairhope, 21 in Spanish Fort, 10 in Gulf Shores, 8 on Dauphin Island, 53 in other Alabama towns and 48 with a non-Alabama or missing address, which include cards from New York, Houston, Dallas and Orlando. The deck's historic-site, beach, zoo and amusement-place cards are all among them, including Fort Morgan State Historic Site in Gulf Shores (4.3 from 1,120 reviews) and Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island, which has no stored rating.
- The Bragg-Mitchell Mansion and the Saenger Theatre. These are the two qualifying sights I did not use. The Bragg-Mitchell Mansion (4.4 from 114 reviews) is stored as open Tuesday to Friday, 10 AM to 4 PM, and closed on Saturday, and it is 2.77 km from the nearest plan stop. The Saenger Theatre (4.3 from 105 reviews) has no stored hours, and it sits 0.11 km from The Noble South if you want to look at it from the lunch stop.
- Sights with no stored hours. 13 of the 48 in-town sights have none, and I used none of them. Every stop in the plan has stored hours.
- Other restaurants. Three more restaurants met my meal line of 4.4 or higher with at least 1,000 reviews and stored hours: Panda Haven (4.6 from 3,074 reviews, at 6300 Grelot Rd, away from the downtown clusters), Rock N Roll Sushi - Midtown (4.5 from 1,018 reviews) and Rice Asian Grill & Sushi Bar (4.4 from 1,184 reviews). Any of them can swap in for a meal. Hotels are skipped for a day plan.
Getting around between the stops
- Each day has a different shape. Day one is one downtown cluster in which no leg is longer than 0.73 km. Day two starts at the USS ALABAMA, moves to downtown for brunch and the Richards-DAR House, then to Oakleigh, then 9.99 km west to Museum Dr, where the Botanical Gardens and the Museum of Art are 0.66 km apart, and ends 3.06 km away at dinner. The 9.99 km leg and the first and last legs are the ones to plan a ride or drive for. I read no transit, shuttle or parking source, so I give no travel times, fares or parking advice.
- Straight lines understate the trip. Roads make each real leg longer than the straight-line figures above.
- In the app: each card shows its distance and opening status, and the list sorts by rating, distance or A to Z.
How I would swipe the Mobile, Alabama deck
I built NomadSwipe, so this is the method I would use, not a trip I already took. I would open the deck and swipe right on the museums and a few places to eat, and left on the rest, because only 13 of its 48 city sights clear a 4.0 rating with 100 reviews and 11 of those are museums. I would check any card with a missing rating or hours before saving it, and drop anything with a Daphne, Fairhope or out-of-state address, because 197 of the deck's 464 cards sit outside the city. Then I would open the map to see which saved places cluster. In this data they fall into two groups: a downtown cluster a few streets wide, and a handful of places spread out from it, the battleship to the east and the Museum Dr pair to the west. I used the first for day one and the second, plus a few downtown stops, for day two. The closed-day pattern above is the part to check last, because a good cluster can still be shut on a Sunday. NomadSwipe is Android only.
Questions about this Mobile, Alabama plan
Which days of the week work for this Mobile, Alabama plan?
By the stored hours, both days work only on Friday and Saturday, so the plan assumes day one is a Friday and day two a Saturday. Day one fails on Monday because the Condé-Charlotte Museum, the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf and the Exploreum are stored as closed, on Tuesday because the Condé-Charlotte Museum, the Mobile Carnival Museum and the Maritime Museum are stored as closed, on Wednesday because the Condé-Charlotte Museum is stored as closed, on Thursday because the Carnival Museum is stored as closed, and on Sunday because Colonial Fort Condé and the History Museum of Mobile open at 1 PM and four other museums are stored as closed. Day two fails on Monday because Oakleigh, the Botanical Gardens and the Museum of Art are stored as closed, on Tuesday because the Richards-DAR House, Oakleigh and the Botanical Gardens are stored as closed, on Wednesday and Thursday because the Richards-DAR House is stored as closed, and on Sunday because the Richards-DAR House opens at 1 PM and Oakleigh and the Museum of Art are stored as closed. The hours were read on 7 November 2026, so confirm them before you go.
Do I need a car for this Mobile, Alabama plan?
I read no transit, shuttle or parking source, so I cannot say what is available. Day one is compact, with every leg 0.73 km or less by straight line between stored coordinates. Day two is not: its legs are 2.91, 0.48, 2.19, 9.99, 0.66 and 3.06 km, and the farthest pair of stops, the USS ALABAMA and the Botanical Gardens, is 14.28 km apart. Treat day two as drives or rides and check your own options.
Why are the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion and the Saenger Theatre not in the plan?
Both meet my line of a stored rating of 4.0 or higher and at least 100 stored reviews: the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion (4.4 from 114 reviews) and the Saenger Theatre (4.3 from 105 reviews). The Bragg-Mitchell Mansion is stored as open Tuesday to Friday only, 10 AM to 4 PM, and closed on Saturday, which is a plan day, and it is 2.77 km from the nearest plan stop. The Saenger Theatre has no stored hours, so I cannot match it to a weekday. Either can replace a stop if it is why you came.
How were the 15 stops chosen?
I picked cards by hand from the part of the data that is inside the city, with a stored rating of 4.0 or higher and at least 100 stored reviews for the sights, then checked each suggested start time against the stored weekly hours. Eleven stops are sights and four are restaurants. Every one of the 15 has stored hours, and I used no place that lacks them.
Build your own two days
I built NomadSwipe to turn a city into a mapped shortlist: swipe real places, save the ones you like, and see them on one map. It is Android only.
Findings, method and sample
Sample and method. I read the NomadSwipe app's place data on 7 November 2026 with read-only queries. The city is stored as two destination rows (named Mobile, country USA) with 454 and 10 cards. I excluded destination rows with the country "Custom", which hold user-typed names. Together the two rows hold 464 cards, 454 distinct place IDs and 451 distinct places by case-insensitive title and address. The data is not limited to the city, so I defined "in the city" as a card whose stored address contains "Mobile, AL" and whose stored coordinates fall inside a rough box (latitude 30.55 to 30.85, longitude -88.3 to -87.95). That keeps 267 of the 464 cards (257 place IDs) and drops 197. The box alone holds 294 cards, because 27 cards inside it lack a "Mobile, AL" address, and I excluded those too. After merging cards with the same title and address, I kept the card with stored hours, then the one with more reviews, which leaves 254 places. The counts below are of the 254 places unless stated. An empty stored hours list counts as no stored hours. I measured distance in a straight line between stored coordinates. The 254 places were last updated on 5 and 6 May 2026, and the deck's other rows between 5 May and 30 July 2026.
- Of the 254 places, 214 have a stored rating, and 161 of those are rated 4.0 or higher (75%). 75 are rated 4.5 or higher (35%). The median stored rating is 4.2. 198 of the 254 have stored weekly hours (78%). 121 of the 254 are stored with the category restaurant.
- I defined sights by stored category, after lower-casing the name and removing underscores so that "TouristAttraction", "tourist_attraction" and "touristattraction" count once: tourist attractions, museums, parks, art galleries, theaters and concert halls, gardens, historic sites, zoos, beaches and amusement places. That gives 48 sights (19% of the in-town places) from 52 cards, in 6 stored categories: museum (16), park (12), theater and concert hall (7), tourist attraction (7), art gallery (4) and garden (2). The deck's historic-site, beach, zoo and amusement-place cards are all outside the city filter, so those four categories are empty here.
- Sight cards are mixed on data. Of the 48 in-town sights, 34 have a stored rating and reviews, 35 have stored hours (13 have none), and 25 have both. 13 are rated 4.0 or higher with at least 100 stored reviews, of which 12 have hours. Of the 13, 11 are museums, 1 is a garden and 1 is a theater and concert hall. No park, art gallery or tourist-attraction card meets the line. The 100 line is mine, not a rule in the app.
- The tourist-attraction bucket is not all sights: it includes a ticket agency, an event hall and a visitor bureau, which is why I did not count the 7 as 7 attractions to visit.
- Of the 198 places with stored hours, 56 show Sunday as closed (28%), 44 Monday (22%), 16 Tuesday, 15 Saturday, 6 Wednesday, 3 Thursday and 1 Friday. 81 show at least one closed day (41%). Sunday, not Monday, is the heaviest closed day in this deck.
- The 197 cards outside the filter are 33 with a Daphne address, 24 Fairhope, 21 Spanish Fort, 10 Gulf Shores, 8 Dauphin Island, 53 in other Alabama towns and 48 with a non-Alabama or missing address (including 5 from New York, 4 from Houston and 2 each from Dallas and Orlando).
- Landmark search: titles were searched for Bellingrath, Bienville, Cathedral, Cemetery, Sea Lab, GulfQuest, Mardi, Bay Bridge, Cruise and Hank Aaron. No card matched any of them, so I could not include them. One neighbourhood card does exist, the Africatown Heritage House (5.0 from 17 reviews), but it is under my 100-review line.
- I chose the 15 stops by hand: sights with a stored rating of 4.0 or higher and at least 100 stored reviews (lowest rating 4.0, fewest reviews 138), and restaurants rated 4.4 or higher with at least 1,000 reviews and stored hours, chosen to keep each day in nearby clusters and fit the stored hours. Of the 15, 11 are sights (ten museums and one garden) and 4 are restaurants, from the 13 sights and the 7 restaurants that meet those lines. They are not simply the 15 highest-rated cards, and all 15 have stored hours.
- Using straight-line distance between stored coordinates, day one totals about 2.45 km (longest leg 0.73 km, farthest pair 0.73 km) and day two about 19.3 km (longest leg 9.99 km, farthest pair 14.28 km). The centres of the two days are about 4.65 km apart. These are not driving times.
- Weekday test: with a one-hour margin before closing, all 15 stops pass on Friday and Saturday for both days, and each of the other five weekdays fails at least one stop on each day. The test script is mine and was run on the stored values.
Limits: the ratings, review counts and hours are stored values that may have changed since the dates above, and the place rows I used are six months old. Only 34 of the 48 sights have a rating, so the sight counts are thin, and the deck has no qualifying park, gallery or historic site in town. The suggested start times are mine and are checked only against stored hours. The city filter and the title-and-address merge are my own definitions and were not checked card by card, so a few duplicates or misplaced cards may remain. I left out fees, tickets, parking, transit and travel times because I read no official page for them, and I did not copy any third-party review text.
