Tallahassee in 2 days: 15 stops checked against stored hours
A Tallahassee 2-day itinerary of 15 stops from the NomadSwipe app's 499 Tallahassee places: day one downtown around the Florida Historic Capitol Museum, day two north and west to the Grove Museum and Mission San Luis. Day one works Tuesday to Thursday, and day two works Wednesday to Friday.
The plan at a glance
- Day 1, downtown and east: the Florida Historic Capitol Museum, the Riley House Museum, lunch at Metro Deli, LeMoyne Arts, Goodwood Museum & Gardens, Cascades Park, dinner at Chuck's Fish and an optional evening at Theatre Tallahassee.
- Day 2, north and west: The Grove Museum, Florida's Governor's Mansion, lunch at Kool Beanz Cafe, the Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts, Mission San Luis, Lichgate on High Road and a beer at Proof Brewing Company.
- Days of the week: day one works Tuesday to Thursday and day two works Wednesday to Friday. Monday and Sunday fail both days, so this is a Tuesday-to-Friday city in this data (see the weekday table).
- Distance: day one adds up to about 10.4 km by straight line between stored coordinates and day two to about 11.0 km. The longest legs are 4.49 km on day two and 3.17 km on day one. These are not walking times, and legs that long are rides, not strolls.
A restaurant deck with a thin, museum-heavy sight layer
Of the 499 places in the Tallahassee deck, 384 sit within 8 km of the city centre, and only 64 of those are sights by my list (17%). The sights span seven stored categories: tourist attraction (21), theater and concert hall (11), museum (10), art gallery (10), park (8), stadium (2) and historic site (2). Only 28 of the 64 have a stored rating, and only 3 are rated 4.0 or higher with at least 100 stored reviews. This plan uses 11 sights and 4 places to eat. Six of the 11 sights are museums.
- The deck repeats a sight. Theatre Tallahassee appears twice, as the theatre and as "Theatre Tallahassee Entry Drive", with the same 4.6 from 30 reviews and coordinates about 0.2 km apart. I use the first card.
- Prices are left out. I did not source ticket prices from official pages this run, so check each place's own site the day you go.
- Many sight cards are unrated. The Museum of Florida History, the Knott House Museum and the Tallahassee Museum have a card but no stored rating and no stored hours, so I could not test them against a weekday. Add them as your own pins if you want them.
Which days of the week work
I parsed the stored weekly hours of the 13 stops that have them with a script, set a suggested start time and visit length for each, and tested every weekday. A stop fails a day if its stored hours are closed or do not cover the visit. Cascades Park and Theatre Tallahassee have no stored hours, so the script cannot test them.
| Weekday | Day 1 works? | Day 2 works? |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | No: the Riley House Museum, LeMoyne Arts and Goodwood are stored as closed | No: the Grove Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, Mission San Luis and Proof Brewing are stored as closed |
| Tuesday | Yes | No: the Grove Museum and Proof Brewing are stored as closed (drop both) |
| Wednesday | Yes | Yes |
| Thursday | Yes | Yes |
| Friday | No: the Riley House Museum is stored as closed (drop it) | Yes |
| Saturday | No: the Riley House Museum is stored as closed, Goodwood closes at 2:30 PM and the Capitol Museum opens at 10 AM | No: the Governor's Mansion is stored as closed and Kool Beanz is stored as dinner only |
| Sunday | No: the Capitol Museum opens at noon and the other five tested stops are stored as closed | No: the Grove Museum, the Mansion, Kool Beanz and the Museum of Fine Arts are stored as closed |
Across the 30 Tallahassee sight cards with stored hours, 17 show Monday as closed (57%) and 16 show Sunday as closed (53%), against 7 for Tuesday, 6 each for Wednesday and Thursday, 5 for Saturday and 2 for Friday. So Friday is the most forgiving day and Monday the worst. If Friday is your first day, drop the Riley House Museum (stored open Tuesday to Thursday only) and the rest of day one still works. A Sunday is a short afternoon: the Capitol Museum (stored open noon to 4:30 PM), Mission San Luis (10 AM to 4 PM), Lichgate on High Road (8 AM to 6 PM) and Proof Brewing (2 PM to 8 PM) are the stops stored as open, along with Cascades Park, which has no stored hours. Hours also change on public holidays, so confirm before you go.
Day 1: the Capitol area and the east side
Day one keeps six of its eight stops within 0.7 km of the Capitol Museum, then makes two longer hops: 2.42 km out to Goodwood and 3.17 km back to Cascades Park. The first three legs are 0.40, 0.41 and 0.34 km, and going stop to stop adds up to about 10.4 km. The farthest pair, Theatre Tallahassee and Cascades Park, is 3.51 km apart. Times below are my suggested start times.
- 9:30, Florida Historic Capitol Museum: stored as a museum at 400 S Monroe St, 4.5 from 393 reviews, only 0.1 km from the stored city centre. Open 9 AM to 4:30 PM on weekdays, from 10 AM on Saturday and from noon on Sunday.
- 10:45, Riley House Museum: stored as a museum at 419 E Jefferson St, 4.6 from 17 reviews. Open 10 AM to 4 PM from Tuesday to Thursday only, which is what limits day one to three weekdays. 0.40 km from the Capitol Museum.
- 11:45, Metro Deli: stored as a restaurant (a breakfast type) at 104 S Monroe St, 4.6 from 389 reviews. Open 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday to Friday, 11 AM to 4 PM on Saturday and closed Sunday. 0.41 km from the Riley House.
- 12:45, LeMoyne Arts: stored as an art gallery at 125 N Gadsden St, 4.5 from only 8 reviews, the thinnest rating in the plan together with Lichgate. Open 11 AM to 6 PM from Tuesday to Saturday. 0.34 km from lunch.
- 14:15, Goodwood Museum & Gardens: stored as a museum at 1600 Miccosukee Rd, 4.6 from 194 reviews. Open 10 AM to 4 PM from Tuesday to Friday, 10 AM to 2:30 PM on Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday. 2.42 km from LeMoyne Arts, and a 14:15 start with a 90 minute visit leaves 15 minutes before the 4 PM close.
- 16:30, Cascades Park: stored as a park at 1001 S Gadsden St with no stored rating and no stored hours, so I cannot match it to a weekday. 3.17 km from Goodwood, the longest leg of day one.
- 18:00, Chuck's Fish Tallahassee: stored as a restaurant at 224 E College Ave, 4.5 from 784 reviews. Open 4 PM to 10 PM Monday to Saturday and closed Sunday. 0.82 km from the park.
- 19:45, Theatre Tallahassee (optional): stored as a theater and concert hall at 1861 Thomasville Rd, 4.6 from 30 reviews, with no stored hours or show times. I would go only if a show is on, which the stored data cannot tell me. 2.81 km from dinner.

Day 2: the Grove, the campus and the west
Day two starts in a tight pocket on N Monroe St, where the Grove Museum, the Governor's Mansion and Kool Beanz Cafe are within 0.6 km of each other, then spreads out: 1.42 km to the museum on campus, 2.95 km west to Mission San Luis, 1.48 km to Lichgate and 4.49 km back to Proof Brewing. Going stop to stop adds up to about 11.0 km, and the 4.49 km leg is both the farthest pair of the day and the longest leg of the plan. I read no transit source this run, so I give straight-line distances only and no travel times. Times below are my suggested start times.
- 10:00, The Grove Museum: stored as a museum at 902 N Monroe St, 4.4 from 40 reviews, the lowest rating in the plan. Open 10 AM to 4 PM from Wednesday to Saturday and closed Sunday to Tuesday, so 10:00 is the opening time.
- 11:00, Florida's Governor's Mansion: stored as a historic site at 700 N Adams St, 4.5 from 23 reviews. The stored hours read "Midnight - 11:59 PM" from Monday to Friday and closed on weekends, which cannot tell you whether you can go inside, so check its own page. Only 0.14 km from the Grove Museum.
- 11:45, Kool Beanz Cafe: stored as a restaurant at 921 Thomasville Rd, 4.5 from 2,035 reviews, the most reviewed place in the plan. Open 11 AM to 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM to 9 PM Monday to Thursday, with a 10 PM close on Friday. On Saturday it is stored as dinner only and on Sunday as closed. 0.47 km from the Mansion.
- 13:15, Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts: stored as a museum at 530 W Call St, 4.5 from 15 reviews. Open 9 AM to 5 PM on Tuesday, 10 AM to 5 PM on Wednesday and Friday, 10 AM to 8 PM on Thursday, 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday. 1.42 km from lunch.
- 14:45, Mission San Luis: stored as a museum at 2021 Mission Rd, 4.7 from 463 reviews, the highest rating and the most reviewed sight in the plan. Open 10 AM to 4 PM from Tuesday to Sunday and closed Monday. 2.95 km from the Museum of Fine Arts, and a 75 minute visit from 14:45 ends exactly at the 4 PM close, so start earlier if you can.
- 16:15, Lichgate on High Road: stored as a historic site at 1401 High Rd, 4.5 from 8 reviews, open 8 AM to 6 PM every day. 1.48 km from Mission San Luis.
- 17:30, Proof Brewing Company: stored as a brewery at 1320 S Monroe St, 4.5 from 348 reviews. Open 4 PM to 10 PM from Wednesday to Friday, noon to 10 PM on Saturday, 2 PM to 8 PM on Sunday and closed Monday and Tuesday. 4.49 km from Lichgate, the longest leg of the plan.

Where the stored hours bind
These are the stops whose stored hours decide the start time or the weekday.
| Stop | Stored hours | What it forces |
|---|---|---|
| Riley House Museum | Tue-Thu 10 AM-4 PM | Day one's three weekdays |
| Goodwood Museum & Gardens | Closes 4 PM (2:30 PM Saturday); closed Sun-Mon | The 14:15 start and day one's Saturday |
| The Grove Museum | Wed-Sat 10 AM-4 PM | The 10:00 start and day two's Tuesday |
| Kool Beanz Cafe | Lunch Mon-Fri only, closed Sun | The 11:45 start and day two's Saturday |
| Mission San Luis | Tue-Sun 10 AM-4 PM | The 14:45 start, which leaves no spare time |
| Proof Brewing Company | Opens 4 PM; closed Mon-Tue | The 17:30 start and day two's Tuesday |
What I left out, and why
- Unrated sights near the centre. The Museum of Florida History (0.4 km from the stored centre) and the Knott House Museum (0.4 km) have no stored rating or hours. The Meek-Eaton Black Archives Research Center and Museum (1.3 km, stored open 10 AM to 4 PM Tuesday to Friday and 11 AM to 3 PM on Saturday) and the Railroad Square Art District (1.1 km) have no stored rating either. The Tallahassee Museum (6.8 km) has neither a rating nor hours.
- Performance halls. Ruby Diamond Concert Hall (5.0 from 8 reviews) and Opperman Music Hall (5.0 from 5) have no stored hours, and a hall's opening hours say little about when something is on, so I kept Theatre Tallahassee as the only optional evening pick.
- Low-rated entertainment cards. Fun Station (2.7 from 107 reviews), District 850 (3.0 from 73) and Recess at CollegeTown (2.0 from 31) are stored as tourist attractions. I skipped them. The Donald L. Tucker Civic Center (a stadium card, 3.7 from 69 reviews, no stored hours) is also out.
- Cards I could not interpret. The Governors Club (4.0 from 30 reviews) and Tomahawks 51 (4.5 from 19) are stored as tourist attractions, but the stored fields do not say what a visitor does there, and I did not guess.
- Hotels and rentals. 49 hotels and 18 vacation rentals make up 13% of the deck, and the rentals all sit outside my box, so I skipped them for a day plan.
Getting around between the stops
- The Capitol area is compact. The first four stops of day one are linked by legs of 0.34 to 0.41 km by straight line, and the Grove Museum, the Mansion and Kool Beanz on day two by legs of 0.14 and 0.47 km. Streets make the real walk longer than the straight line.
- The rest is spread out. Seven legs are between 1.4 and 4.5 km by straight line: 2.42, 3.17 and 2.81 km on day one, and 1.42, 2.95, 1.48 and 4.49 km on day two. Plan a ride for those. Transit routes, fares and times are left out because I did not read an official page for them this run.
How I would swipe the Tallahassee deck
I built NomadSwipe, so this is the method I would use, not a trip I already took. I would open the Tallahassee deck and swipe right on the museums, historic sites and parks that match my taste, and on a few places to eat, and left on the rest. The deck is mostly restaurants (190 of 499 cards), 36 of its 64 nearby sights have no stored rating and 115 of its 499 cards are outside my 8 km box, so I would check any card with a missing rating or hours before saving it. Then I would open the map to see which saved places cluster. Here the sights fall into a downtown cluster around the Capitol, a northern one on N Monroe St and a western one around Mission San Luis, and I turned those into two days. The closed-day pattern above is the part to check last, because a good cluster can still land on a Monday. NomadSwipe is Android only.
Questions about this Tallahassee plan
Which days of the week work for this Tallahassee plan?
Day one works Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as written, and day two works Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. So Tuesday then Wednesday, Wednesday then Thursday and Thursday then Friday all work. Monday and Sunday are the weak days: 17 of the 30 Tallahassee sight cards with stored hours show Monday as closed and 16 show Sunday as closed. The hours were read on 8 November 2026 from rows last updated on 20 April 2026, so confirm them before you go.
Is Tallahassee enough for two days in this data?
It is enough for a museum-and-history plan, but the data is thin. Inside 8 km of the centre there are 64 sight cards, only 28 have a stored rating and only 3 are rated 4.0 or higher with at least 100 reviews: Mission San Luis, the Florida Historic Capitol Museum and Goodwood Museum & Gardens. Several other stops rest on only 8 to 40 reviews, so treat their ratings as weak signals.
Why are Wakulla Springs and Lake Ella not in the plan?
A title search of the Tallahassee data found no sight card for Wakulla Springs (only The Lodge at Wakulla Springs, a hotel card about 22.7 km from the centre), and none for Maclay or Lake Ella. I did not add them from memory. If you want them, add them as your own pins and check their hours on an official page.
How were the 15 stops chosen?
I took sight cards inside 8 km of the city centre with a stored rating of 4.0 or higher and at least 5 stored reviews, kept ten of the 16 that qualify, added Cascades Park, which has no stored rating, and added four places to eat with 348 to 2,035 stored reviews. Then I tested each suggested start time against the stored weekly hours. Two stops, Cascades Park and Theatre Tallahassee, have no stored hours.
Build your own two days
I built NomadSwipe to turn a city into a mapped shortlist: swipe real places, save the ones you like, and see them on one map. It is Android only.
Findings, method and sample
Sample and method. I read the NomadSwipe app's place data on 8 November 2026 with read-only queries. Tallahassee is stored as one destination row (country code USA, no duplicate rows and no same-name rows with another country), which holds 499 cards for 499 distinct place IDs and 459 distinct titles (case-insensitive), because the same venue can appear under more than one place ID. I counted cards, not merged venues, unless stated. An empty stored hours list counts as no stored hours. I measured distance in a straight line between stored coordinates, from the destination's stored centre (latitude 30.43826, longitude -84.28073). Every sight row I read was last updated on 20 April 2026.
- Of the 499 cards, 384 lie within 8 km of the stored city centre and 115 lie outside it (23%). The outside cards include all 18 vacation rentals, The Lodge at Wakulla Springs (a hotel card, 22.7 km out) and a zoo card more than 1,400 km away.
- I grouped the in-box cards by stored category: 144 restaurants, 42 hotels, 23 cafes, 20 beauty and spa places, 15 bars and 64 sights, with the rest in smaller buckets such as bakeries, breweries, sports and recreation and other services. The sights are 17% of the 384 in-box cards. I counted only the CamelCase stored categories of this list: TouristAttraction, Museum, Park, ArtGallery, HistoricalSite, Garden, TheaterConcertHall, Zoo, Beach, Aquarium, ObservationPoint, Castle, Stadium and Church. Lowercase variants of the same names would be a different scraped list.
- The 64 sights come in seven stored categories: TouristAttraction (21), TheaterConcertHall (11), Museum (10), ArtGallery (10), Park (8), Stadium (2) and HistoricalSite (2). No Garden, Zoo, Beach, Aquarium, ObservationPoint, Castle or Church card falls inside the box. 28 of the 64 have a stored rating and 36 have none. 30 have stored hours and 34 have none.
- Sight cards are thin on reviews. Only 3 of the 64 are rated 4.0 or higher with at least 100 stored reviews: Mission San Luis, the Florida Historic Capitol Museum and Goodwood Museum & Gardens, and all three are in the plan. Lowering the review line to 5 gives 16 sight cards rated 4.0 or higher across five categories (6 museums, 4 theater and concert hall cards, 3 tourist attractions, 2 historic sites and 1 art gallery), and 12 of those 16 have stored hours.
- Of the 30 sights with stored hours, 17 show Monday as closed (57%), 16 show Sunday, 7 show Tuesday, 6 show Wednesday, 6 show Thursday, 5 show Saturday and 2 show Friday. Weekday coverage is therefore strongest from Wednesday to Friday.
- Landmark search: titles were searched for Wakulla, Maclay, Lake Ella, Lake Jackson, Natural Bridge, Railroad Square, St. Marks, cemetery, trail, cathedral and botanical. There is no Wakulla Springs sight card (only the Lodge card), no Maclay card and no Lake Ella card. Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park exists (3.7 from 54 reviews) but sits 21.1 km out, and the Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological State Park card has no stored rating, reviews or hours.
- I chose the 15 stops by hand: ten of the 16 sight cards above (rated 4.0 or higher with at least 5 reviews) that I could place on a map and visit, Cascades Park (no stored rating) and four places to eat with 348 to 2,035 reviews. They are six museums, one art gallery, one park, two historic sites, one theater and concert hall and four food places, across seven stored categories (Museum, ArtGallery, Park, HistoricalSite, TheaterConcertHall, Restaurant and Brewery). 13 of the 15 have stored hours. The lowest stored rating is 4.4 and the fewest reviews is 8. The 5-review line is mine, not a rule in the app.
- Using straight-line distance between stored coordinates, day one totals about 10.37 km (longest leg 3.17 km, farthest pair 3.51 km, Theatre Tallahassee and Cascades Park) and day two about 10.95 km (longest leg 4.49 km, farthest pair also 4.49 km, Lichgate and Proof Brewing). These are not walking times.
Limits: the ratings, review counts and hours are stored values from 20 April 2026 that may have changed since. Cascades Park and Theatre Tallahassee have no stored hours and are not weekday-tested. The suggested start times and visit lengths are mine and are checked only against stored hours, and Florida's Governor's Mansion is stored with hours that do not say whether visitors can enter. The Friday drop and the Sunday list are checked against stored hours by hand, not by the script. I left out ticket prices, transit fares and travel times, because I read no official site or transit page for them, and I did not copy any third-party review text.
