Abu Dhabi in 2 days: 15 stops matched to opening days

An Abu Dhabi 2-day plan of 15 stops from the NomadSwipe app's place data, with every start time tested against stored opening hours. Day one runs from Saadiyat Island to the Corniche, day two from the mangroves and Khalifa Park out to Yas Island. I assumed a Tuesday and a Wednesday, and the plan also passes on the other five weekdays.

Disclosure: I built NomadSwipe (Android), and I wrote this guide. Ratings, review counts, addresses and opening hours are the values stored in the app's Abu Dhabi place data, read on 7 November 2026. The rows I used were last updated on 8 and 9 May 2026, so treat them as a six-month-old snapshot. Hours may have changed since then.

The plan at a glance

An Abu Dhabi deck of 394 places, with few sight hours

The app stores Abu Dhabi as one destination row holding 459 cards. Inside my city filter that is 415 cards, which become 394 distinct places once cards with the same title and address are merged. The list is mostly places to eat: 175 restaurants and 54 hotels. Sights are the minority, 48 places, about one in eight, in 9 stored categories: amusement places (11), art galleries (9), parks (8), beaches (7), museums (6), tourist attractions (4), and one each of stadium, historical site and zoo. Only 29 of the 48 have a rating, 22 have stored hours and 12 are rated 4.0 or higher with at least 100 reviews. This plan uses 10 of those 12.

Which days of the week work

I parsed the stored weekly hours of the 13 stops that have them with a script and tested each start time on each of the seven weekdays. A stop fails a day if it is stored as closed, if its hours do not cover the start time, or if the start leaves under one hour before closing. The script reads day names rather than list positions, because the stored week starts on Saturday on most cards and on Friday on others. Times past midnight and split windows, such as White's breakfast and dinner, are handled.

No weekday fails, and that is a finding about the data as much as about the plan. Of the 175 places in the city filter with stored hours, 158 show no closed day at all. Closed days are rare: 17 places, about one in ten, show at least one, and a place can show several: Sunday 9, Friday 6, Saturday 5 and Monday 4. What the stored hours do change is the earliest start. To show that the test is not vacuous, I also ran four deliberately bad start times. Khalifa Park at 10:00 passes only on Saturday, Sunday, Thursday and Friday. MADCAP Abu Dhabi at 10:30 passes only on Saturday and Sunday. Hakkasan at 13:00 passes only on Saturday, the one day its stored hours include lunch. Murjan Splash Park at 12:00 passes on no day, because it is stored as opening at 1 PM every day. Hours also move with seasons and holidays, so confirm before you go.

Day 1: Saadiyat Island and the Corniche

Day one begins on Saadiyat Island, where five of the seven stops sit within 6 km of each other, and ends on the waterfront side of town. By straight line between stored coordinates, the legs run 0.36, 5.88, 0.94, 1.54, 10.75 and 2.35 km, about 21.8 km in all. The farthest pair, White and Hakkasan, is 17.5 km apart. The one long leg is the 10.75 km from Abu Dhabi Art to Corniche Beach. I sourced no lunch stop for this day, so the block between the Louvre and teamLab is yours to fill. Times below are my suggested start times.

  1. 8:00, White: stored as a restaurant at Jumeirah Saadiyat Island, 4.7 from 171 reviews. Stored hours are 6:30 AM to 11 AM and 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM every day, so an 8:00 start leaves three hours of the breakfast window.
  2. 9:30, Saadiyat Beach Club: stored as a beach at Exit 14, Saadiyat Island, 4.6 from 1,105 reviews, open 8 AM to 7:30 PM every day. 0.36 km from White.
  3. 12:00, Louvre Abu Dhabi: stored as a museum in the Saadiyat Cultural District, 4.6 from 4,674 reviews, the most reviewed sight in the city data. It has no stored hours, so I cannot match it to a weekday. 5.88 km from the beach club. Check its hours before you rely on a noon start.
  4. 14:30, teamLab Phenomena: stored as a museum in the Cultural District, 4.7 from 297 reviews, open 10 AM to 7 PM every day, so a 14:30 start leaves four and a half hours. 0.94 km from the Louvre.
  5. 16:45, Abu Dhabi Art: stored as an art gallery at Manarat Al Saadiyat, 4.2 from 406 reviews, open 10 AM to 8 PM every day. 1.54 km from teamLab.
  6. 18:15, Corniche Beach: stored as a beach on Corniche Road, 4.3 from 1,257 reviews, open 8 AM to 8 PM every day, so an 18:15 start leaves 1 hour 45 minutes. 10.75 km from the gallery.
  7. 20:00, Hakkasan Abu Dhabi: stored as a restaurant at Emirates Palace on West Corniche Road, 4.5 from 2,910 reviews. Stored hours are 6 PM to 11:30 PM every day, with a noon to 3:30 PM lunch window added on Saturday only. 2.35 km from the beach.

Day 2: the mangroves, Khalifa Park and Yas Island

Day two crosses the city. The first four stops are on the mainland side and the last four are within about 3.2 km of each other on Yas Island. By straight line between stored coordinates, the legs run 1.49, 7.11, 3.31, 13.07, 3.11, 0.52 and 0.51 km, about 29.1 km in all, and the farthest pair, Zahrat Lebnan and Mr. Kim Korean Bbq, is 18.55 km apart. The 13.07 km hop from Khalifa Park to Yas Beach is the one to plan a ride for. The centres of the two days are about 15.5 km apart. I assumed a Wednesday, which is why Khalifa Park starts at 3 PM. Times below are my suggested start times.

  1. 9:00, Zahrat Lebnan: stored as a restaurant on Muroor Road, 4.8 from 682 reviews, open 8 AM to 2 AM every day. See the note on its duplicate card below.
  2. 10:30, Mangrove National Park: stored as a park on Sheikh Zayed Street, 4.5 from 484 reviews, with no stored hours, so I cannot match it to a weekday. 1.49 km from breakfast. Check its hours before you rely on a 10:30 start.
  3. 13:00, Murjan Splash Park: stored as an amusement place, 4.5 from 124 reviews, open 1 PM to 9 PM every day, so 13:00 is its opening time. 7.11 km from the mangroves.
  4. 15:00, Khalifa Park: stored as a park, 4.2 from 141 reviews. Stored hours are 3 PM to 11 PM from Monday to Wednesday, 10 AM to 11 PM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 10 AM to 10 PM on Sunday. 3.31 km from the splash park, although the splash park's address says it is inside this park.
  5. 16:45, Yas Beach: stored as a beach on Yas Island, 4.3 from 1,247 reviews, open 10 AM to 7:30 PM every day, so a 16:45 start leaves 2 hours 45 minutes. 13.07 km from Khalifa Park.
  6. 18:00, MADCAP Abu Dhabi: stored as an amusement place at Yas Mall, 5.0 from 244 reviews, open noon to 9 PM from Monday to Friday and 10 AM to 9 PM on Saturday and Sunday. 3.11 km from the beach.
  7. 19:30, Mr. Kim Korean Bbq: stored as a restaurant at Yas Mall, 4.9 from 110 reviews, open noon to midnight from Sunday to Thursday and noon to 1 AM on Friday and Saturday. 0.52 km from MADCAP.
  8. 20:45, The Fountains - Yas Mall: stored as a tourist attraction, 4.1 from 42 reviews, open 10 AM to 10 PM from Saturday to Wednesday and 10 AM to midnight on Thursday and Friday, so a 20:45 start leaves 1 hour 15 minutes on a Wednesday. 0.51 km from dinner. It is the one stop below my 100-review line; I kept it for its position next to dinner.

Notes on the data

A few cards are off in ways that affect the plan, and I would rather say so than hide them.

What I left out, and why

Getting around between the stops

How I would swipe the Abu Dhabi deck

I built NomadSwipe, so this is the method I would use, not a trip I took. I would open the Abu Dhabi deck and swipe right on the museums, beaches, parks and a handful of places to eat, and left on everything else, since the deck is mostly restaurants and hotels and only 12 of its 48 sights clear a 4.0 rating with 100 reviews. Before saving a card I would look at its rating, reviews and hours, and I would drop anything with a Dubai or US address, because the deck holds some. Then I would open the map to see which saved places cluster. In this data they fall into four groups: Saadiyat Island, the Corniche, the mangroves and Khalifa Park, and Yas Island. I used the first two for day one and the other two for day two. The opening times are the part to check last, because a good cluster can still be shut when you arrive. NomadSwipe is Android only.

Questions about this Abu Dhabi plan

Which days of the week work for this Abu Dhabi plan?

At the suggested start times, both days pass on all seven weekdays by the stored hours, with a one-hour margin before closing. I assumed day one is a Tuesday and day two a Wednesday. What changes with the weekday is how early a stop can start: Khalifa Park is stored as opening at 3 PM from Monday to Wednesday and at 10 AM on the other days, MADCAP Abu Dhabi as opening at noon from Monday to Friday and at 10 AM on Saturday and Sunday, and Hakkasan Abu Dhabi as serving lunch on Saturday only. The Louvre Abu Dhabi and Mangrove National Park have no stored hours, so they are not tested. The hours were read on 7 November 2026 and may have changed, so confirm them before you go.

Do I need a car for this Abu Dhabi plan?

I read no transit, taxi or parking source, so I cannot say what is available. By straight line between stored coordinates, day one has one long leg, 10.75 km from Abu Dhabi Art to Corniche Beach, and its other legs are 5.88 km or less. Day two has two long legs: 13.07 km from Khalifa Park to Yas Beach and 7.11 km from the mangroves to Murjan Splash Park. The farthest pair on day two, Zahrat Lebnan and Mr. Kim Korean Bbq, is 18.55 km apart. Treat both days as rides or drives between clusters and check your own options.

Where are the mosques and palaces in this plan?

I searched the in-city cards for titles containing Mosque, Palace, Qasr, Heritage, Corniche or Emirates, and for the Arabic words for mosque (مسجد and جامع) and palace or castle (قصر). No card matched the mosque words. Qasr Al Watan is stored as a historical site with no rating, no review count and no stored hours, so I could not rank it or test it against a weekday, and Heritage Park has the same gaps. The other matches were hotels, restaurants and beaches. If a mosque or palace is why you came, add it to your own map and check its hours at the source.

How were the 15 stops chosen?

I picked cards by hand from the part of the data that sits inside Abu Dhabi: for sights, a stored rating of 4.0 or higher with at least 100 stored reviews, and for the four restaurants, a rating of 4.5 or higher with at least 100 reviews and stored hours. Then I tested each suggested start time against the stored weekly hours. Ten stops are sights from the 12 that meet the line, one is a sight that does not (The Fountains - Yas Mall, 4.1 from 42 reviews), and four are restaurants. Two of the 15 have no stored hours, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Mangrove National Park, and I kept them for their ratings and review counts.

Build your own two days

I built NomadSwipe to turn a city into a mapped shortlist: swipe real places, save the ones you like, and see them on one map. It is Android only.

Findings, method and sample

Sample and method. I read the NomadSwipe app's place data on 7 November 2026 with read-only queries. Abu Dhabi is stored as one destination row (country code ARE) with 459 cards. I excluded destination rows with the country "Custom", which hold user-typed names, and none were involved here. The 459 cards carry 459 distinct place IDs, but the IDs in this data are one per card, so that count says nothing about duplicates. I counted places by case-insensitive title and address instead. The data is not limited to the city, so I defined "in Abu Dhabi" as a card whose stored coordinates fall inside a rough box (latitude 24.2 to 24.65, longitude 54.2 to 54.8). That keeps 415 cards, which merge into 394 places, and drops 44 cards. Where I merged duplicates I kept the card with stored hours, then the one with more reviews. An empty stored hours list counts as no stored hours. I measured distance in a straight line between stored coordinates. The rows I used were last updated on 8 and 9 May 2026.

Limits: the ratings, review counts and hours are stored values that may have changed since the dates above, and I did not compare any of them with an official source. The Louvre Abu Dhabi and Mangrove National Park have no stored hours and are not weekday-tested. The suggested start times are mine and are checked only against stored hours. The city box and the title-and-address merge are my own definitions and were not checked card by card, so a few duplicates or misplaced cards may remain, and several coordinates in this deck look unreliable. I did not map every card against its address. I left out fees, tickets, parking, transit and travel times because I read no official page for them, and I did not copy any third-party review text.
