Buenos Aires in 2 days: 16 stops matched to opening days
A 2-day Buenos Aires itinerary of 16 stops from the NomadSwipe app's 684 distinct Buenos Aires places, with every start time checked against stored opening hours. Any two consecutive days from Thursday to Sunday work as written. Monday is the weak day: four day-two stops are stored as closed.
The plan at a glance
- Day 1, from Avenida de Mayo to San Telmo: breakfast at Café Tortoni, Casa Rosada, El Zanjón de Granados, the Mafalda statue, lunch at Villegas Restó, the ship museum Fragata Presidente Sarmiento, a drink at Antares San Telmo and dinner at Sagardi.
- Day 2, Palermo to the Posadas street bars: the Jardín Botánico Carlos Thays, Museo Evita, lunch at Don Julio Parrilla, MALBA, the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, dinner at Piegari, then Pony Line and Presidente Bar.
- Days of the week: day one works Thursday to Sunday, day two works Wednesday to Sunday, and both work on any two consecutive days from Thursday to Sunday. Day one has a swap for Monday to Wednesday, day two has one for Tuesday, and Monday is a bad day for day two (see the weekday table).
- Distance: day one adds up to about 4.4 km by straight line between stored coordinates, and day two to about 6.4 km, with one leg over 2 km. These are not walking times.
A deck with many hotels and a museum-heavy list of sights
Of the 684 distinct places in the Buenos Aires deck, 82 are sights by my grouping, 139 are hotels or other lodging and 273 are restaurants and similar. The sights span 14 stored categories, but museums are 38 of the 82. Only 32 of the 82 sights are rated 4.0 or higher with at least 100 stored reviews, and 26 of those sit inside a rough box around the city. This plan uses eight of those 26: Casa Rosada, El Zanjón de Granados, the Mafalda statue, the Fragata museum ship, the Jardín Botánico, Museo Evita, MALBA and the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. Five of the eight are museums, which mirrors the deck.
- Prices are left out. I did not source ticket prices from official pages this run, so check each place's own website the day you go.
- Some well-known names are missing. A title search found no card for the Obelisco, the Recoleta Cemetery, Teatro Colón, Caminito, El Ateneo, Plaza de Mayo or the Puente de la Mujer (details in the findings).
- Add your own pins. Anything you want that the deck lacks is yours to add on the map yourself.
Which days of the week work
I parsed the stored weekly hours of the 14 stops that have them with a script, set a suggested start time for each, and tested every weekday. A stop fails a day if its stored hours are closed or do not cover the start time. Casa Rosada and the Mafalda statue have no stored hours, so the script cannot test them.
| Weekday | Day 1 works? | Day 2 works? |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | No: the Fragata museum ship is stored as closed (swap) | No: four stops are stored as closed |
| Tuesday | No: the Fragata museum ship is stored as closed (swap) | No: MALBA is stored as closed (swap) |
| Wednesday | No: the Fragata museum ship is stored as closed (swap) | Yes |
| Thursday | Yes | Yes |
| Friday | Yes | Yes |
| Saturday | Yes | Yes |
| Sunday | Yes | Yes |
Day one fails Monday to Wednesday on one stop only. The Buque Museo Fragata ARA Presidente Sarmiento is stored as closed those three days and open from 1 PM on Thursday and Friday, so my 15:00 start fits. Swap it for Palacio Barolo, which the app stores as "Placio Barolo" and as open 11 AM to 6 PM Monday to Friday (4.4 from 3,021 reviews) and closed at weekends. It is 1.78 km from lunch at Villegas Restó. Day two is harder. On Tuesday MALBA is the only stop stored as closed, so swap its slot for Parque Tres De Febrero (4.6 from 7,444 reviews), which has no stored hours, 2.42 km from MALBA by stored coordinates, so confirm it before relying on it. On Monday the Jardín Botánico, Museo Evita, the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and Presidente Bar are all stored as closed, and I did not find a clean swap for four stops. Thursday to Sunday gives three consecutive pairs for either order: Thursday and Friday, Friday and Saturday, and Saturday and Sunday. Wednesday then Thursday also works if you do day two first. Hours also change on public holidays, so confirm before you go.
Day 1: Avenida de Mayo to San Telmo
Day one runs east from Café Tortoni to Avenida Alicia Moreau de Justo, then south to San Telmo. By straight line between stored coordinates, the farthest pair, Café Tortoni and Sagardi, is 1.5 km apart, and going stop to stop adds up to about 4.4 km. The longest single leg, 0.96 km, is from Casa Rosada to El Zanjón de Granados. Times below are my suggested start times.
- 9:00, Café Tortoni: stored as a cafe at Avenida de Mayo 825, 4.2 from 20,287 reviews, open 8 AM to 9 PM every day. The deck stores it twice: the other row is stored as a restaurant at 3.2 from 44,496 reviews, with the same hours. I show the cafe row and flag the split.
- 10:30, Casa Rosada: stored as a government and community place at Calle Balcarce 50, 4.2 from 9,884 reviews, with no stored hours, so I cannot match it to a weekday. There is also a "Museo Casa Rosada" card with the same address and the same review count. About 0.73 km from the cafe.
- 11:30, El Zanjón de Granados: stored as a museum at Calle Defensa 755, 4.6 from 769 reviews, open 11 AM to 5 PM every day. It closes early, so I place it before lunch. About 0.96 km from Casa Rosada.
- 12:30, Mafalda statue: stored as a historic site at the corner of Chile and Defensa streets, 4.2 from 3,382 reviews, no stored hours. Only 0.09 km from the museum.
- 13:30, Villegas Restó: stored as a restaurant at Avenida Alicia Moreau de Justo 1050, 4.2 from 2,329 reviews, open from noon to midnight (to 1 AM Friday and Saturday). 0.84 km from the statue. A different card, "El Buffet del Club Villegas", has a similar name and sits in Lanús, so check the street.
- 15:00, Buque Museo Fragata ARA Presidente Sarmiento: stored as a museum at Avenida Alicia Moreau de Justo 900, 4.3 from 2,461 reviews. Stored hours are 10 AM to 7 PM on Saturday and Sunday, 1 PM to 7 PM on Thursday and Friday, closed Monday to Wednesday. Only 0.10 km from lunch.
- 17:30, Antares San Telmo: stored as a bar at "Bolivar y Venezuela", 4.1 from 568 reviews, open 5 PM to 3 AM every day, so 17:30 is just after it opens. 0.87 km from the museum ship.
- 19:30, Sagardi Argentina: stored as a restaurant at Calle Humberto 1º 319, 4.5 from 1,670 reviews, open noon to midnight (12:30 AM Friday and Saturday). 0.82 km from the bar.

Day 2: Palermo, the museums and Posadas street
Day two is longer. The farthest pair, Don Julio Parrilla and Piegari, is 3.89 km apart by straight line, and going stop to stop adds up to about 6.4 km. The longest leg is 2.12 km, from Don Julio to MALBA. I read no transit source this run, so I give straight-line distances only and no travel times. The last three stops, Piegari, Pony Line and Presidente Bar, are within 0.4 km of each other. Times below are my suggested start times.
- 10:00, Jardín Botánico Carlos Thays: stored as a garden at Av. Santa Fe 3951, "Palermo neighborhood", 4.1 from 1,293 reviews. Stored hours are 8 AM to 5:30 PM Tuesday to Friday and 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM at the weekend, closed Monday, so 10:00 works every open day.
- 11:30, Museo Evita: stored as a museum at Calle Lafinur 2988, 4.2 from 1,788 reviews, open 11 AM to 7 PM, closed Monday. Only 0.32 km from the garden.
- 13:15, Don Julio Parrilla: stored as a restaurant at Calle Guatemala 4699, 4.5 from 12,926 reviews, open 11:30 AM to 4 PM and again 7 PM to 1 AM every day, so a lunch start fits the first window. 1.08 km from the museum.
- 15:15, MALBA: stored as a museum at Avenida Pte Figueroa Alcorta 3415, 4.5 from 9,048 reviews. Stored open noon to 8 PM (from 11 AM on Wednesday) and closed Tuesday. It is the longest leg of the day at 2.12 km.
- 17:15, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes: stored as a museum at Avenida Del Libertador 1473, 4.6 from 13,365 reviews. Open 11 AM to 7:30 PM Tuesday to Friday and from 10 AM at the weekend, closed Monday, so 17:15 leaves two hours. 1.25 km from MALBA.
- 19:45, Piegari Ristorante: stored as a restaurant at Calle Posadas 1042, 4.3 from 842 reviews, open from noon to midnight (to 1 AM Friday and Saturday). 1.20 km from the museum.
- 21:30, Pony Line: stored as a bar at Calle Posadas 1086-88, inside the Four Seasons Hotel according to the stored address, 4.3 from 778 reviews. Open 11 AM to 1 AM Monday to Wednesday, to 2 AM Thursday and Friday, and 5 PM to 2 AM on Saturday and 5 PM to 1 AM on Sunday. Only 0.04 km from dinner.
- 22:30, Presidente Bar: stored as a bar at Av. Presidente Manuel Quintana 188, 4.4 from 431 reviews. It opens at 8 PM and closes at 2 AM on Tuesday and Sunday, 2:30 AM on Wednesday, 3 AM on Thursday and 3:30 AM on Friday and Saturday. It is stored as closed Monday. 0.39 km from Pony Line.

Where the stored hours bind
These are the stops whose stored hours decide the start time or the weekday.
| Stop | Stored hours | What it forces |
|---|---|---|
| Buque Museo Fragata | Thu-Fri from 1 PM; Sat-Sun from 10 AM; closed Mon-Wed | The 15:00 start, and day one's weekdays |
| El Zanjón de Granados | Daily 11 AM-5 PM | A late-morning start, before lunch |
| Jardín Botánico | From 9:30 AM at the weekend; closed Mon | The 10:00 start |
| MALBA | Closed Tue | Day two's Tuesday swap |
| Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes | Closes 7:30 PM; closed Mon | A 17:15 start leaves two hours |
| Antares San Telmo | Opens 5 PM | The 17:30 start |
| Presidente Bar | Opens 8 PM; closed Mon | The 22:30 last stop |
What I left out, and why
- Duplicate cards. Café Tortoni is stored twice (a 3.2 rating from 44,496 reviews as a restaurant, and 4.2 from 20,287 as a cafe), and Casa Rosada and Museo Casa Rosada have identical review counts. I kept one of each.
- Cards outside the city. 108 of the 684 places sit outside a rough box around Buenos Aires. They include San Diego Zoo (second most reviewed in the deck, at 37,998), the Tropical Birdhouse (stored latitude 29.71, longitude -95.39) and the Museo de La Plata (latitude -34.91, longitude -57.94). I skipped them.
- El Viejo Almacén. It is stored as a theater and concert hall, 4.2 from 1,136 reviews, with stored hours, but its address reads "Ramon Gomez de la Serna 4 28035", a Madrid-looking postcode, next to coordinates at the San Telmo end of the city. The conflict made me leave it out.
- The Ecoparque de Buenos Aires. It has stored hours (11 AM to 6 PM, closed Monday) but no stored rating or review count.
- Hotels. 139 of the 684 places are hotels or other lodging, and none of them has stored hours, so I skipped them for a day plan.
Getting around between the stops
- Day one is compact. All seven of its legs are 0.09 to 0.96 km by straight line. Streets make the real walk longer than the straight line.
- Day two is more spread out. The 2.12 km leg from Don Julio to MALBA and the 1.25 km and 1.20 km legs after it are the ones to plan a ride for. Transit routes, fares and times are left out because I did not read an official page for them this run.
- In the app: each card shows its distance and opening status, and the list sorts by rating, distance or A to Z.
How I would swipe the Buenos Aires deck
I built NomadSwipe, so this is the method I would use, not a trip I already took. I would open the Buenos Aires deck and swipe right on the few sights and the places to eat and drink that match my taste, and left on the rest, because the deck holds many more places to eat, drink and stay than sights. I would check any card with a missing rating or an odd address before saving it, since a few cards in this deck are not in Buenos Aires at all. Then I would open the map to see which saved places cluster. In this deck they fall into two groups: the Avenida de Mayo, Alicia Moreau de Justo and San Telmo addresses on one side, and the Palermo and Avenida del Libertador addresses on the other, about 4.1 km apart between their centres, and those became my two days. The closed-day pattern above is the part to check last, because a good cluster can still land on the wrong weekday. NomadSwipe is Android only.
Questions about this Buenos Aires plan
Can I follow this Buenos Aires plan on a Monday or Tuesday?
Day one yes, with one swap: from Monday to Wednesday, replace the Buque Museo Fragata with Palacio Barolo, which is stored as open 11 AM to 6 PM Monday to Friday. Day two only partly. On Tuesday, swap MALBA, which is stored as closed, for Parque Tres De Febrero, which has no stored hours, so check it first. Monday does not work for day two, because the Jardín Botánico, Museo Evita, the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and Presidente Bar are all stored as closed. The stored hours were read on 5 November 2026, so confirm them before you go.
Which days of the week work for both days?
Thursday to Sunday. The 14 stops with stored hours are all stored as open at their suggested start times on those four days, so Thursday and Friday, Friday and Saturday, or Saturday and Sunday work in either order. Wednesday then Thursday also works if you do day two first.
Why are the Obelisco, the Recoleta Cemetery and Teatro Colón not in the plan?
A title search of the app's Buenos Aires data found no sight card for any of them, so I cannot match them to opening days, and I did not add them from memory. If one is why you came, add it as your own pin and check its hours on its official page.
How were the 16 stops chosen?
I picked cards by hand from the app's Buenos Aires data with a stored rating of 4.0 or higher and at least 400 stored reviews, then checked each suggested start time against the stored weekly hours. Two stops, Casa Rosada and the Mafalda statue, have no stored hours, so I kept them for their ratings and their position between other stops. Day one stays within 1.5 km and day two within 3.9 km, both by straight line between stored coordinates.
Build your own two days
I built NomadSwipe to turn a city into a mapped shortlist: swipe real places, save the ones you like, and see them on one map. It is Android only.
Findings, method and sample
Sample and method. I read the NomadSwipe app's place data on 5 November 2026 with read-only queries. Buenos Aires is stored as three destination rows with nearly the same name, which together hold 773 cards (410, 287 and 76). I grouped them by place ID, which gives 684 distinct places and 626 distinct titles (case-insensitive), because the same venue can appear under more than one place ID. Where a place had two rows I kept the one with stored hours, then the one with more reviews. The counts below are of the 684 places. I measured distance in a straight line between stored coordinates. The rows were last updated between 9 May and 5 November 2026.
- Of the 684 places, 381 have a stored rating, and 269 of those are rated 4.0 or higher (71%). 100 are rated 4.5 or higher (26%). The median stored rating is 4.2.
- I grouped the places by stored category into buckets I defined myself: 273 restaurants and other places to eat by cuisine, 139 hotels and lodging, 83 bars and clubs, 83 cafes, bakeries and breakfast places, 82 sights (museums, parks, gardens, zoos, theaters, galleries, historic sites, tourist attractions and similar) and 24 services. The bucket totals sum to 684. None of the 139 lodging cards has stored hours.
- The five largest single stored categories are restaurant (198), hotel (78), bar (46), museum (38) and cafe (35). Museum is the largest sight category, with 38 of the 82 sights.
- The 82 sights come in 14 stored categories. 51 of them have stored hours, and 32 are rated 4.0 or higher with at least 100 stored reviews. 26 of those 32 lie inside a rough box around the city.
- 364 of the 684 places have stored weekly hours (53%). Of those, 93 show Monday as closed (26%), 90 show Sunday as closed (25%), 49 show Tuesday, 22 show Wednesday, 19 show Saturday, 11 show Thursday and 4 show Friday. 166 places show at least one closed day (46%).
- Landmark search: titles were searched for the Obelisco, the Recoleta Cemetery, Teatro Colón, Caminito, El Ateneo, Plaza de Mayo, the Puente de la Mujer, the Floralis, the Congreso, the Catedral, the Cabildo and the Rosedal. None returned a sight card. The Obelisco search matched only a coffee shop, and the Recoleta and Colón searches matched only lodging and a restaurant.
- 576 of the 684 places fall inside a rough box around the city (latitude -34.71 to -34.53, longitude -58.54 to -58.33), and 108 fall outside it. The outside cards include the San Diego Zoo (latitude 32.74, longitude -117.15), the Tropical Birdhouse (29.71, -95.39) and the Museo de La Plata (-34.91, -57.94). The stored address of El Viejo Almacén carries a postcode that looks Madrid-based, and some addresses hold HTML entities such as ú that I decoded.
- I chose the 16 stops by hand: cards with a stored rating of 4.0 or higher and at least 400 stored reviews, chosen to mix categories, keep each day in one area and fit the stored opening days. They are five museums, one garden, one historic site, one government and community place, one cafe, four restaurants and three bars, across seven stored categories. They are not simply the 16 highest-rated cards. The 400 line is mine, not a rule in the app.
- Using straight-line distance between stored coordinates, day one totals about 4.4 km (longest leg 0.96 km, farthest pair 1.5 km) and day two about 6.4 km (longest leg 2.12 km, farthest pair 3.89 km). The centres of the two days are about 4.1 km apart. These are not walking times.
Limits: the ratings, review counts and hours are stored values from between 9 May and 5 November 2026 that may have changed since, and some duplicate rows disagree (Café Tortoni's two rows differ on rating, review count and category). Casa Rosada and the Mafalda statue have no stored hours and are not weekday-tested. The suggested start times are mine and are checked only against stored hours. I left out ticket prices, transit fares and travel times, and I did not copy any third-party review text.
